About The Murcia Project
Mursia grows 1.5 million layers and includes a huge, fully automated, egg packing center. The packing center includes the latest technology for handling, grading, sorting and packing eggs while significantly saving labor cost and maintaining high bio security standards.
Mursia was built for Gulien, the leading Layer company in Spain. The project grows 1.5 million layers in 8 large houses and adheres to European growth standards. All the laid eggs are routed to a large, modern fully automated egg packing center. The eggs are automatically sorted, graded and packed in different sized egg cartons and crates, which are in turn labeled, bar-coded and packed into boxes and pallets that ship to supermarkets. The automated packing center saved the client 2/3 of the labor force and adheres to high standards of bio-security, keeping the eggs cleaner with significantly less egg breakage.
This project was a collaboration with Big Dutchman Company. Agrotop has built several projects of this scale in Spain.
