Agrotop completes building advanced poultry farm on challenging Himalayan slopes

Agrotop has completed the construction of a large pullet and breeder farm for the Roongta company in Hetauda, Nepal.

The project, which demonstrated Agrotop’s unique planning and design abilities, was extremely challenging due to limited land space and a mountainous landscape.

Planners had to consider wind directions and use existing topographic conditions to create bio-security barriers.

The project required innovative and creative solutions, such as shallow foundations, to enable construction on the steep Himalayan slopes.

The project includes two pullet farms consisting of two sheds, each with a total of 31,200 females and 4,680 males, and four breeder farms of eight houses with a total of 57,600 females and 5,760 males.

The Roongta farm also includes a hatchery which can produce some 180,000 day-old chicks per week. The project, which is the most advanced in Nepal, will produce some 225,000 eggs per week.
