Agrotop builds Israel’s largest and most advanced aviary coop in record time

Agrotop has completed the construction of Israel’s largest aviary house for the Naveh-Bnei Netzarim moshavim in the country’s southern region in the record time of only six months.

The new farmhouse, which complies with the strictest international standards and the European Union directive, holds close to 50 thousand layers.

Considerable effort was invested in guaranteeing the birds’ welfare while maximizing growers’ profit.

The cage-free house is equipped with the most advanced systems available in the market, provided by German company Big Dutchman.

Apart from the fact that the house guarantees the poultry’s welfare––which translates into a better overall product––it also provides the grower with absolute control over every floor at any given moment.

The farm includes ultramodern ventilation and climate control technologies, which includes an innovative damper system, enabling full ventilation control and guaranteeing optimal air distribution.

Agrotop also installed advanced fans, provided by Danish company DACS, which work at changing speeds. The fans allow maximum control over ventilation, which translates into savings of tens of percent in electricity consumption.

The Israeli market is currently in the midst of a transition period in which demand for cage-free eggs is on the rise. Last June, the local government approved new regulations banning the usage of cages by 2037.

Agrotop, as a true market leader, stands at the forefront of a market shift to cage-free houses. For example, Agrotop was also tasked with building Israel’s first aviary rearing layer house, one of the most advanced of its kind in the world, which enables the growing of 80,000 chicks.

The project illustrates Agrotop’s smart engineering, knowledge and customer care using the company’s rich experience in building free-range chicken farms all over the world.

“We entered the project with very strict deadlines and we had to finish the entire project by the end of 2022,” said Amir Monsongo, director of the chicken farm in Bnei Netzarim-Naveh. “We examined several other integrators, including some from Italy and Germany, but in the end chose to go with Agrotop, with whom we had previously established another project.”

“The order was signed at the beginning of July 2022 and within only six months we were able to complete this large and complex project, just before the year’s end. The working process with Agrotop was highly successful and the company and its staff showed high availability and willingness to adapt to changes through ongoing dialogue. The work was completed on December 22nd and already that evening the housing began with the arrival of the first 10,000 birds,” Monsongo concluded.
